Climate Action Progress Report Launch a Success!

On Tuesday, November 7, members of the BCCEC gathered in so-called Vancouver to launch our latest Climate Action Progress Report and call on the BC government to implement our 10 urgent actions.

And what a powerful collection of voices it was. This is what the BC Climate Emergency Campaign is all about. Gathering faith leaders, health groups, Indigenous communities, anti-poverty organizations, agricultural workers, transportation advocates, climate groups, and more, to call for emergency-level climate action together.

Speakers included:

  • Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, President, Union of BC Indian Chiefs

  • Audrey Siegl, Musqueam Nation

  • Dr. Melissa Lem, Board President, Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment

  • Seth Klein, Team Lead, Climate Emergency Unit

  • Tracey Saxby, Executive Director, My Sea to Sky

  • Janelle Lapointe, Climate Justice & Indigenous Rights Organizer from Stellat’en First Nation

  • Ashley Zarbatany, Fossil Gas Campaigner, Dogwood

  • Peter McCartney, Climate Campaigner, Wilderness Committee
